![]() If you only plan to use it on the scorpion and never a pistol then a dead air wolfman or omega 9k would also be good options. Rugged would be my number one choice for an all around pistol/9mm carbine can. If hard use / semi auto - like a Dead Air Nomad-If for hunting / weight matters / precision - Thunderbeast Ultra or Dominus 1 for Pistols-Rugged Obsidian 45-Sico Omega9k or Dead Air Wolfman if for PCC also 1 for Rimfire Rugged Oculus or DeadAir Mask, maybe Q Erector There are other options out there but that's a start of what I have heard well. With no intentions of shooting cast lead or 22 ammo seems the big weight savings especially on a pistol would be a huge plus. Rugged makes great cans, buy with confidence. When on the 9mm slides the Octane has ridiculous blow back to the face which I don't experience nearly as much with the R9 and why I tend to use it more as a rimfire can lately. How much should weight play as the Tirant 9m (9.3oz) aluminum is around 36 lighter than the Obsidian 9 (12.7oz) stainless in their full configurations. I wish I had gotten an Obsidian or a Mod 9 instead of the Octane. Rimfire is dirty so you need to be able to clean the baffle stack out periodically if you shoot alot of it. I have an Octane 9 as well but I tend to utilize it more for rimfire which is a bonus with a user serviceable can I think should be mentioned. A user serviceable pistol can is the better tool for the end of a handgun slide. Obsidian Cons: Cant find it in stock anywhere. Dead Air Wolfman, Dead Air Ghost-M, or Rugged Obsidian 9 or 45 (depending on your versatility). Rugged has excellent customer service from what I understand. While subgun and PCC oriented cans are not ideal they do work. Dead air seems to be having some QC issues these days. If your local dealer can order you one, maybe a Rex Silentium Mod-X. getting a Dead Air Nomad-30 or Nomad-L, or. The Dagger has a Venom red dot on top so its a non issue. Also be aware with the mpx copperhead your muzzle device isn’t removable and I believe you’ll have to do a barrel swap. You haven't had any issues using the Wolfman on a 308? I didn't think it was rated for that. With a diameter of 1.37 the Obsidian9 is compatible with pistol suppressor sights, making it perfect for pistols or sub-guns. ![]() Our ADAPT Module gives you 2 lengths in one suppressor, for maximum suppression or weight/length savings. Both are very modular And top performers. ![]() I would strongly recommend looking at the Rugged Obsidian 45 and the dead air nomad. Without knowing your exact firing schedule and or barrel lengths of your host I’ll assume they’re typical barrel lengths and average shooting styles (ie no full auto or abnormally short barrels). Yes a 45 and a good 308 Can would work however in the future you’re going to want a deticated 22 can as they’re much lighter and smaller then traditional pistol cans.
